SKI'S BLOG

   Congratulations to another youth group couple who got engaged, Graham Rotelli and Sheila Boysen.  If you can believe it, while my family and I were at Disney World in January, we RAN (physically) into them amongst (fun word) thousands of people! (Can't you see the joy in their faces?)  We thought for sure he was going to pop the big question while there, but Graham, being the slick James Bond type he is, (actually more like Maxwell Smart of "Get Smart") waited until the annual Boyson St. Patty's Day party, where, actually, more people attend than go to Disney.  In front of a packed room of friends and family, (narrated in the voice of James Earl Jones) "Graham took to bent knee, and when the moon was right, asked of the hand of Shelia through the holy matrimony of marriage...and somewhere in the distance, an angelic lark was dancing in the evening mist."  Best of luck to two incredible people who have been like a second family to my own family.  Of the many times Graham and Sheila babysat my kids, attended so many of my family parties, or crashed at our home while tornados and Earth ending storms blew through the area, (they know what I'm talking about!) they will always hold a special place in the hearts of my family and I, and those whom they knew in youth group.

   We have another new baby to welcome into the Voices family.  Christine and Geo welcomed the arrival of their first baby, Sofia.  Christine (who will always be one of my OWN babies because she was part of my very first youth group when I started at St. Thomas) lives in the Cayman Islands, but made the trip up to Palatine with Geo and Sofia so everyone could meet the beautiful baby.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW MR.& MRS. ALEX AND DANIELLE GREEN

   Two of our former youth group members tied the knot recently, making them our second couple to get married after meeting through Voices.  It was an awesome wedding and reception, with many former youth group members in attendance.  The best of luck to Alex and Danielle on their new journey together!

Let's not forget PROM last spring...that time of the year when you realize how fast the year went by!  As hard as it is to admit, we'll be losing a big group of our Voices seniors to college next year.  We want to wish them all the luck in the world, and let them know they are in our prayers as they prepare for a new kind of journey ahead.
